National Institute of Public Health and Environment (RIVM)
The National Institute of Public Health and Environment (RIVM) is an independent department of the Ministry of Health. It has thirteen specialized knowledge centers distributed among three areas: Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology, Environment and Safety, Public Health and Care.
The RIVM chose HT Group modular room systems for their elaborate new building in Utrecht for the laboratory area.
The performance area includes: 800m² BSL-3 laboratory and 200m² BSL-3+ laboratory (BSL-4 construction method) and includes gas-tight walls, ceilings, floors, windows and door systems, as well as professional sealing of all penetrations.
Also included in the scope of work is the gas-tight part of the ventilation system belonging to the containment, including filter technology and shut-off dampers.
In the filter center, HT GROUP installed 56 fully welded BiBohightec filter housings, which, equipped with H14 filters, enable safe operation of the systems.
This was preceded 5 years earlier by a test room on HT Group‘s premises. Here, the ventilation control/regulation, the decontamination system and the fire extinguishing system were tested in detail in advance with the companies involved in the construction.
