Gas-tight sluice systems

The sluice is an important part of the laboratory area. An essential requirement for fault-free functionality of a laboratory are various forms of sluice systems which must all have a gas-tight design. One task is to separate the clean section of the laboratory from the contaminated research section but to nevertheless permit safe access. An additional aspect is the disinfection process for personnel and material. This cleaning prevents germs being released from containment to the outside world. An autoclave takes on this function for all waste which is generated. Larger sluices can be used transporting animals, material, equipment and fodder. Since the sluice constitutes an opening in the containment shell, it is imperative for the biological security that the sluice works safely.
