Health | The new clinic sets new standards for functionality, hygiene, and process reliability
The extensive modernisation of the Women’s Clinic on the Inselspital Bern campus has resulted in a state-of-the-art clinic that meets the requirements of forward-looking gynaecological and perinatal medicine.
Within the existing building envelope, a completely new hospital has been created, combining modern medical infrastructure, efficient workflows and patient-centred architecture.
The new surgical areas have been systematically designed to meet the highest standards of functionality, hygiene and safety. Modern surgical rooms, optimised workflows and flexible spatial concepts create the ideal conditions for high-quality medical care whilst supporting medical staff in their day-to-day clinical work.
For laboratory applications, highly specialised cleanrooms meeting GMP requirements have been established for in vitro fertilisation (IVF) as well as the manufacture and processing of human blood and biologics (HBB), thereby creating optimal conditions for sensitive reproductive medicine and cell-based processes.
