Symposium at Baselland Hospital, Bruderholz

Last week, we visited the new outpatient center at the Bruderholz site of Baselland Cantonal Hospital shortly before it opened and after a construction period of just eight months.
Our symposium kicked off in the hospital's auditorium with over 90 visitors from the healthcare buildings sector.
In four specialist presentations - by representatives of the hospital, construction management, medical technology and modular expansion - the participants were given comprehensive information about the project and at the same time shown perspectives for the future.
A particular highlight was the exclusive tour of the new outpatient surgery center (AOZ) - a state-of-the-art facility that will make an important contribution to future-oriented, efficient and patient-oriented care.
The participants were given fascinating insights into the infrastructure, the processes and the underlying concept.
We were delighted that almost all of the participants also attended the get-together afterwards - a valuable opportunity for exchange and networking.

The construction project includes the construction of a day clinic with 2 operating theaters with radiation protection equipment, induction and discharge and numerous ancillary rooms.
Due to the many minimally invasive procedures, patients can be operated on in one day and discharged home in the evening. Due to the increasing number of such surgical methods, an extension was necessary.
An important feature in the planning of the day clinic was the principle of healing environment. This concept places great emphasis on creating an atmosphere that is as pleasant as possible for the patient and aims to reduce anxiety and excitement. In addition to appealing and hygienic materials, space was created for large-scale images on the walls.
