New Malmö Hospital Campus, Skåne University Hospital, Schweden

We look back on a successful symposium at the New Malmö Hospital Campus of Skåne University Hospital – one of Northern Europe's most modern and sustainable healthcare developments. Organized by OTH Amberg-Weiden University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with Avidicare and HT Group, the event brought together experts in hospital planning, healthcare, research, and industry.

Scientific Program: Evidence-Based Operating Room Design – From Planning to Operation
The symposium focused on the latest research findings and best practices in operating room design. Following each presentation, interactive roundtable discussions provided participants with valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge and practical experience.

Practical Insights: The New Malmö Hospital Campus
A key highlight of the symposium was the case study on the New Malmö Hospital Campus. Project planners and clinical end users shared first-hand insights into the strategic considerations, key decisions, and practical experiences that shaped the project from the initial concept through to successful operation. During guided tours of the operating department and the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), participants gained exclusive insights into the implementation of modern healthcare architecture and experienced first-hand how planning, technology, and clinical practice are successfully integrated.
