10 years Hospital Engineering Trends

From 14 to 16 September 2026, the Hospital Engineering Trends took place in Heideck and Amberg. This year, the event series celebrated a special milestone: 10 years of Hospital Engineering Trends. Under the theme “Innovations and Challenges in Healthcare Construction,” experts from a wide range of fields came together to discuss current developments and future requirements for the planning, construction and operation of healthcare facilities.

The event opened at HT Group in Heideck, followed by two conference days in Amberg. Presentations covered, among other topics, planning principles for hospital construction, integrated planning in healthcare as well as research and education, current hospital projects, and requirements for GMP areas. Digitalisation, standardisation and automation in hospitals were also on the agenda.

The presentation programme was complemented by a site visit to Klinikum St. Marien Amberg, where participants gained insights into the new operating department.

In its anniversary year, Hospital Engineering Trends once again provided a platform for professional dialogue between planning, architecture, medicine, research and industry. Alongside new ideas and practical examples, the event focused particularly on personal exchange and networking across disciplines.
