The holistic planning and the modular systems have also been applied in the new building 3i in Münsterlingen. The ten glass operation rooms and the related pre-operative rooms were specifically tailored to the needs of the staff to achieve the most efficient workflow. In this case, the sterile equipment is brought to two ORs via a preparation room so that the best possible use can thus be made of space and the patient routes optimized.
Any later adjustment due to new medical equipment and structural reorganisation can also be flexibly and quickly carried out. Since hardly any downtimes occur, tremendous cost savings can be achieved.
Glass was the chosen material for the operating rooms because it is especially hygienic and easy to clean and thus sets a new standard in OR hygiene.
The corridor areas were fitted with robust ceramic surfaces. The surface is thus especially shock-resistant and thereby very well suited for infrastructural areas. The area of the intensive care unit appears aesthetically good and smart-looking, designed with a transparent, full-height glass wall system. The integration of HT Control touchscreens enables an efficient room management in the operation rooms.
