New construction of the surgical center

At LKH-Feldkirch, approximately 22,800 surgical interventions are carried out annually. The increase in complex operations and the expansion of the operational disciplines also required modernization and the construction of a new surgical center in Feldkirch.

The LKH Feldkirch meets the demographic development of the increasingly aging population as well as the requirements of additional new medical-surgical techniques.

As part of the new project for the OR center in Feldkirch, Austria, HT Group is building 12 new operating rooms. The first construction phase with 8 OPs was completed in July 2017. The operating rooms are designed according to the latest standards and equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology. Special features are the large-area glass wall panels, which offer the best hygienic properties according to their microscopically flat surfaces. Flush integration of the wall installations, fixed glazing of the window fronts, equipped with radiation protection as well as indirect lighting create an architecturally demanding overall picture.

The hybrid OR with comprehensive imaging possibilities (rotational angiography with 3D imaging) during and after the operation serves the multiprofessional and multidisciplinary use by various medical divisions, e.g. vascular surgery, orthopedics, accident surgery or neurosurgery, traumatology and interventional cardiology and interventional radiology.

The medical departments of general surgery, vascular surgery, urology and gynecology will occupy the first operating rooms after startup in August 2017.

In the second phase of construction, 4 OPs will be used to create additional capacities for the departments of traumatology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, oral, maxillofacial and facial surgery. This construction stage will be completed in 2018.
